The Terra Linda Orcas are committed to making swim team accessible to families in our community. We never want cost to be the reason a swimmer cannot participate. The information below explains how our financial aid program works and how to apply.

Overview of Orca Swim Team Financial Aid

For over 60 years, the Terra Linda Orcas Swim Team, a registered California nonprofit organization, has existed to promote seasonal competitive swimming in the family-oriented Terra Linda community of San Rafael.

Countless youth have passed through the Orca swim program, where they not only learn competitive swimming and the value of hard work through practice and teamwork, but also develop values and friendships that last a lifetime.

We recognize that from time to time, circumstances arise in which swimmers and their families who would otherwise love to participate in the Marin Swim League may have difficulty affording the seasonal registration fee.

It is the policy of the Terra Linda Orcas to encourage as many swimmers and families as possible to participate. Each season, the Orcas budget a portion of our income to provide financial assistance to a limited number of qualifying families.

Because these funds are limited, we may not be able to accommodate all requests. While every effort is made to help families in need, we ask that each family contribute as much as it can afford and request only the assistance that is truly needed.

Award Information

If an applicant is selected for financial assistance, the typical scholarship award is $150 per swimmer for the current season. Additional assistance may be requested for special circumstances and is reviewed on a case-by-case basis.

Please understand that, as a nonprofit organization, our financial resources are limited.

In the event that a scholarship is awarded and the swimmer withdraws at any point during the season, no refunds will be granted.

If you have questions or would like guidance, you are welcome to speak with any board member. Financial aid awards are determined by the Team President in coordination with the Team Registrar.

In the interest of privacy, we ask that all families keep this process confidential.
